Intelligent Rebalancing will be supported at no extra cost for all new Amazon MSK Provisioned clusters with Express brokers. Customers can now easily perform automatic partition balancing operations while scaling their Kafka clusters up or down thanks to this new feature.
By optimally rebalancing Kafka resources on MSK Express-based clusters for improved performance, Intelligent Rebalancing increases capacity utilization and removes the need for customers to manage partitions manually or with third-party tools.
When compared to standard brokers, Intelligent Rebalancing completes these tasks up to 180 times more quickly.
Compared to Standard brokers using Apache Kafka, MSK Express brokers may give up to three times more throughput per broker, scale up to 20 times faster, and cut recovery time by 90%.
To optimize cluster performance, Intelligent Rebalancing regularly checks MSK Express-based clusters for resource imbalance or overload based on intelligent Amazon MSK defaults.
Brokers are effectively scaled when needed without impacting cluster availability for clients to generate and use data. With MSK Provisioned clusters for Express brokers, customers can now fully benefit from the scalability and performance advantages while streamlining cluster maintenance processes.
In every AWS Region where Express brokers are available, Intelligent Rebalancing is being implemented for all newly provisioned MSK clusters with Express brokers. There is no additional setup or configuration needed to begin Intelligent Rebalancing.
