Google Cloud announced a major multimillion-dollar deal to provide highly secure, sovereign cloud services to the NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA).
NATO’s digital infrastructure, data governance, and ability to safely utilize state-of-the-art cloud and artificial intelligence capabilities are all strengthened by this strategic cooperation.
Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) was chosen by NCIA to assist the Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center (JATEC). JATEC will use this infrastructure to manage classified workloads and update its operating capabilities.
A crucial part of Google’s Sovereign Cloud solutions, GDC air-gapped integrates Google’s potent cloud services and state-of-the-art AI capabilities into totally isolated, extremely secure settings.
This enables businesses to run cutting-edge AI and analytics workloads on their most crucial data, revealing insightful information while upholding complete operational control and adhering to the most stringent digital sovereignty regulations.
By utilizing this technology, NATO can maintain uncompromised operational controls and data residency, offering the highest level of security and autonomy regardless of size or complexity. This deal demonstrates Google Cloud’s commitment to helping partners safeguard and enable the most important data across NATO’s allies.
“Google Cloud is dedicated to supporting NATO’s critical mission to develop a robust and resilient infrastructure and harness the latest technology innovations,”
said Tara Brady, President of Google Cloud EMEA.
“This partnership will enable NATO to decisively accelerate its digital modernization efforts while maintaining the highest levels of security and digital sovereignty.”
“NCIA is committed to leveraging next-generation technology, including AI, to enhance NATO’s operational capabilities and safeguard the Alliance’s digital environment,”
said Antonio Calderon, Chief Technology Officer, NCIA.
“Partnership with industry is a critical component of our digital transformation strategy. Through this collaboration, we will deliver a secure, resilient and scalable cloud environment for JATEC that meets the highest standards required to protect highly sensitive data.”
