New Capgemini AI Solution Empowers Young Talent for a Greener Future

Capgemini has announced the development of an AI-powered career assistant to assist young people in discovering green learning options and matching them with relevant occupations that will influence a sustainable future.

The application employs a novel multi-agent AI system to provide individualized, round-the-clock career assistance to young people in Brazil, especially those living in disadvantaged areas and those impacted by climate change.

The solution demonstrates what is achievable at the convergence of artificial intelligence, employability, and youth empowerment.  Once polished and tested, the tool will complement Green Rising campaign, which has already engaged over 27 million young people with green skills.

The solution was created as part of Capgemini’s annual Global Data Science concern (GDSC), a company-wide program that allows all employees to use their data and AI skills to help tackle a significant global concern.

According to the Capgemini Research Institute’s recent report, Youth Perspectives on Climate: Preparing for a Sustainable Future, more than half of young people want green professions, but only 44% believe they have the necessary skills.

The new AI agent hopes to help narrow this gap by directing users to genuine, local possibilities that promote both professional advancement and climate action.

The solution, which serves as a digital career companion, intends to conduct conversational interviews with young people to learn their talents, interests, and objectives before matching them to green jobs. It also identifies skill gaps and suggests locally relevant training opportunities.

GDSC participants worked with datasets such as green job ads and training programs. The winning solution will be made available under an open-source license, allowing for greater adoption and impact.

This is one of the ways Capgemini is empowering young minds through education and awareness programs, skill development, and climate action support, building on a multi-year global relationship that began in 2023.

“Young people around the world not only feel the urgency of the climate crisis but also want to be part of the solution. With this multi-agentic AI tool combined with the vision of our partnership with UNICEF, we’re enabling young people to explore green career paths tailored for their personal context and ambitions,”

said Niraj Parihar, CEO of Insights and Data Global Business Line and member of the Group Executive Committee.

“At Capgemini, we are committed to creating real impact by equipping our employees with intelligent data and AI tools and opportunities to solve real-world problems. This challenge is a concrete example of how AI and human collaboration can be an agent of positive change for the people, society and the planet.”
